EXIT WOUNDS

Well, if you read my journal with any frequency, you know I give a lot of meaning to song lyrics.
Sometimes they are an almost word for word account of exactly how I feel.
Sometimes they just have a theme that I can relate to.
Sometimes I'm directing them at myself.
Sometimes I'm directing them at others.

All that being said, I present a couple of songs in their entirety.
These are two very, very different songs. I mean, they couldn't be any less alike, musically or lyrically...yet somehow they do share a common thread...
Just how much of what is what, I'm not totally sure, nor would I care to divulge anyway...

A Woman In Love (It's Not Me)
By Tom Petty

She laughed in my face, told me good-bye
Said "Don't think about it, you can go crazy
Anything can happen, anything can end
Don't try to fight it, don't try to save me"

She's a woman in love
And he's gonna break her heart to pieces
She don't wanna see
She's a woman in love, but its not me

Well alright, do what you want
Don't try to talk, don't say nothin'
She used to be the kind of woman
You have and you hold, she could understand the problem
She let the little things go

She's a woman in love
And he's gonna break her heart to pieces
But she don't wanna know
She's a woman in love, she can't let go

Time after time, night after night
She would look up at me
And say she was lonely
I don't understand the world today
I don't understand what she needed
I gave her everything she threw it all away
On nothin'
She's a woman in love

OK, seat belts on. Here's song two:

Unsuccessfully Coping With The Natural Beauty Of Infidelity
a> Anorganic Transmutogenesis (synthetic division)
b> coitus interruptus
c> I Know You're Fucking Someone Else
by Type O Negative

Trust and you'll be trusted
Says the liar to the fool
Lust and so what if you're busted
In love and war there ain't no rules

Do you believe in forever
I don't even believe in tomorrow
The only things that last forever
Are memories and sorrow

Out of sight out of mind
The motto of betrayal
The prophets preach to forgive and forget
I'm sorry but I am unable

You went to L'amour
Saturday night
Red nails and lipstick
dressed two sizes two tight

His tongue down your throat
His hand up your skirt
Yeah I'm a man But it still hurts

I know you're fucking someone else
(He knows you're fucking someone else)
I know you're fucking someone else
(He knows you're fucking someone else)

You had cock on your mind
And cum on your breath
Inserted that diaphragm before you left
Practicing freelance gynecology
Where there's a womb there's a way
With you it's for free

I know you're fucking someone else
(He knows you're fucking someone else)
I know you're fucking someone else
(He knows you're fucking someone else)

Done it before
Time after time
Refused to learn your lesson
Gave 'til it hurt
Thought it was right
Only fools make mistakes twice

So you sit home
Drinking alone
Empty bottle in your hand
Don't even try
To sort out the lies
It's worse to try to understand

You
You make me hate myself

I know you're fucking someone else
(He knows you're fucking someone else)
I know you're fucking someone else
(He knows you're fucking someone else)
I know you're fucking someone else
(He knows you're fucking someone else)
I know you're fucking someone else
(He knows you're fucking someone else)
I know
(He knows)
I said I know
(He said he knows)
I know
(He knows)

OK, Finis
