HAPPY HOUR et al

Friday night, The Devil and his minions were hit by a blizzard.
You see Hell MUST have frozen over...
I mean, come on, how else could you explain the fact that I went to a club...
...AND ACTUALLY (for lack of a better word) DANCED!

Ok, take a minute to pick yourselves off the floor.

See what happened was, like I mentioned earlier, a coworker called it quits, and we all went to a club / bar / whatever you call it after work.
My office has done plenty of "Happy Hour"s after work, but I have never went along, for obvious reasons. But with this being that lady's last day, I thought I should go...besides, I think I would have really disappointed the Gypsy had I passed.
So I was there, not drinking while others around me were getting sloshed. Sloshed is a word, right? Whatever. Gypsy said she was fine, but I think her two and a half (?) drinks did a slight job of brain cell rearranging...
So eventually, people started dancing. I wouldn't have even noticed had not the Gypsy started her to show her eagerness to dance too. She loves to dance, and damn...she is SO good at it...
Some of the people from our group started dancing, and everybody started giving me grief for not dancing with Her. (It's funny how not a secret our big-little secret is, huh?) Anyway, before I knew it, I stood paralyzed in fear on a dance floor. I have to admit though, it was kinda cool to be able to actually touch Her in front of coworkers with out having a problem.

Let me tell you something, by the end of the second hour, when I was as loosened up as I would ever possibly be, I still moved like the Whitest White man in the History of recorded time. Considering I have Latin blood, this boy has NO rhythm, which is weird because I LOVE music, even if it is mostly hard rock and metal. I FEEL that kind of music. Why can't I feel crappy ass dance music? Is it because I have no interest in it or respect for it? Yeah, maybe that's it...

So bottom line is I did something I never thought in a million years I'd be doing.
And I don't think it'll kill me to do it again.

I really am gonna miss the lady who left us. She was a whole lotta fun, and often she offered a friendly ear or shoulder for me in the office. I'd like to think I provided the same for her. I think maybe I did. And I'm glad...

In other news, I had to see the Doctor the other day, with a follow up in a week. Nothing to report right now, and hopefully nothing to report after the follow up. I'm just glad the first visit was painless.

So we (the Gypsy, her daughter and myself) spent the entire day (well 8 hours anyway) at the Miami Dade County Youth fair and Exposition. Overall it was a pretty good time. BUT, it's very hard to stick to any sort of healthy eating routine at one of those fairs! Sheesh!
