A QUESTION

I'm not sure when I wrote this.
It was sometime in 96 or 97.
I think originally it was "Untitled", then "A Question of Faith", but the simple, "A Question" is much more enigmatic, and hence more to my liking

GOD grant me the serenity…
No
Wait
I just don't know if you exist

Surely one as awesome as you
Would not allow the Horrors
This world has seen

Taking children from their mothers
Killing the Good when they're still young
While the evil and dark hearted soar and prosper
No
I'm not sure you exist
The Earth itself seems to revolt
Why would you allow uncompromising winds and waters to level entire populations

Surely, you wouldn't do this

No, I'm not sure you exist

But if you do
And please forgive me
Could it be possible
That we are better off without you?
