OH WOE IS ME
OCTOBER 2004

Sunday, October 31, 2004

I was gonna go see Ray yesterday, but life stepped in and changed my plans. I ended up with a surprisingly full day, not all of it bad, not all of it good. (well, a lot of it bad, a lot of it good, some of it great, and one part fucking sucked)

Anyway, so today I knew I’d have the whole day to do nothing at all…
But once again a movie that I really wanted to see became a movie I lost almost all interest in, and so I’ll wait for Ray on DVD. I really only wanted to see it for Jamie Foxx’s bravura performance…
It’ll keep.

And obviously I pussied out of Saw, and remained pussied out of The Grudge.
Whatever; I hate my self sometimes…

Did I mention that I read Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell by Susanna Clarke?
Apparently it’s a pretty popular book here, despite it being almost 800 pages, and at times being as slow as anything you’ll see on Masterpiece Theatre. But it picks up nicely, and ends in a satisfactory way…I smell a sequel!
Now I’m fully engrossed by Brimstone, the fifth book that I know by Lincoln Child and Douglas Preston that features the awesome Special Agent Pendergast. Fucking amazing stuff…

Well, it's Halloween.
...YAWN...
I shoudl be asleep by 9, 9:30 latest...
So that’s it for October.
Not a stellar fucking month. Not by a long shot.

Damn, it's been a while.
Time flies when your not having any fun at all...

So the Dolphins finally won a game.
Whole thing is kinda heartbreaking, really. I mean, I'm not their biggest or best fan, but they are the only team, in the only sport I follow, and I love them despite it all.

Anyway, it has been a while, but it's the same old shit.
Incredible amounts of bullshit at work.
Nothing but blah and more blah in my "personal life".
Haven't even seen many movies lately. Sad, really.
I really wanna see The Grudge, but I've chickened out so far.
I know, pathetic.

I DID vote early, so that's good.
I won't have to deal with the Election Day craziness...
PHEW!!!

Well, this was pointless, huh?

I feel broken
and empty
and utterly alone...

Tuesday, October 5, 2004

Well, I had intended to write a full review of the new Cradle Of Filth CD, Nymphetamine, but truth be told, the combination of the CD being pretty much typical CoF, and me being extraordinarily blah of late, led to me saying "fuck it".
But it's a pretty good CD by CoF standards, and the title track is almost commercially catchy, especially with plenty of the vocals being provided by Kristine, formerly of Theatre of Tragedy. CoF lead singer (sing is actually a strong term)Dani Filth seems to be mellowing some. He doesn't screech as much, and seems just to speak in a "Vincent Price on loads of steroids but with much less class" voice.
And I was disappointed with Gilded Cunt, a song that I figured had huge potential.
Still, it's entertaining if you're into it.
And the liner notes' artwork is pretty cool...
