OH WOE IS ME...
DECEMBER 2002

Tuesday, December 31, 2002

...and so 2002 takes it's last breath.
Good.

Wednesday, December 25, 2002

So this is Christmas.
Fuck it. It means nothing to me this year.
Just another day off.
In fact, when I eat out, and I pig out, when I'm done, and I'm good and full, the last thing I wanna see is more food, or even the dirty plates left on the table...
Same with Christmas.
It's Christmas day...turn off the music, take down the decorations, etc.
Bah humbug and all that...

I'm not gay, nor am I one of the millions of thirteen year old girls who saw Titanic twenty times, but still it seems like I spent the day with LEONARDO DICAPRIO...

Weird day.
Stopped working at 12 so we could go to our Holiday luncheon thing.
Ate like a pig, even though I didn't like the food, the restaurant, the area, etc.
Then went with a coworker to see TWO WEEKS NOTICE afterwards.
I would have preferred to see Gangs Of New York, but time constraints didn't allow for it. I guess I'll see that one Christmas day, just like I saw ALI last year on Christmas. I hope I like this one a little more though...

Weird, in the midst of writing and posting all this, a surprise visit from an old friend.
Ah the awkward proof that I have no social skills...
Still, I guess it was nice of her to come by and wish me a nice holiday, etc.

So with a hardly a word to anyone, I walked out of the office two hours early and saw IT!

Wednesday, December 18, 2002 (7 AM)

Cautious optimism continues to build regarding the Dolphins.
We'll see what happens.

The Lord Of The Rings: The Two Towers opens today, and as of yet, I have no idea when I'll be seeing it. I wanna see it, like, NOW!!!

I'm so fucking sick. I dunno what the hell's going on, but I don't wanna go back to the doctor. I was there a month ago and he said I just had a cold. That cold left but now it's back with a vengeance and every morning there's more disgusting snot and phlegm coming out of me that should be allowed by any law of nature!
It's really, really disgusting.

I had a new poem all but written in my head, but Fucking A, even I get tired of these poems that are all so similar in nature and tone.
I'm a one trick pony...

"You can take it whichever way you want to, but I love you."
"I love you too".
Such a small, quick exchange of words...
But it'll leave a mark.

Dolphins won...on a Monday night...in the rain...at home...on a night when the 1972, 17-0 team was honored (30th Anniversary, it's very unlikely any other NFL team will ever go undefeated again, but who knows)...and Larry Csonka, one of the coolest white men to ever play the game, had his number (39) retired.
Nice.

I'm really sickened by America's lack of interest in Disney's Treasure Planet.
What's wrong with everybody, huh? It's a good movie. Why aren't kids going crazy over it? What kind of jaded kids is this country raising?
Well fuck you America.
Go ahead and flock to your glorified British car commercials... FINE!

Oh well, back to the absolute joy that is my daily grind.
It's a wonder I didn't implode yesterday...

I saw HARRY POTTER AND THE CHAMBER OF SECRETS again last night.
It's such a great flick!

Sunday, December 1, 2002

Well, and so we begin the last month of 2002.
Not with a bang, but with a whimper...

Four days off for the holiday have not soothed the savage beast, and all I can do is worry with dread about the coming work week, one that promises to be very ugly.
I say this with confidence because last week's three days were pretty bad, and everything was basically put off til tomorrow, Monday.

And Hell, I hardly ate any turkey, or more importantly, pumpkin pie!

And of course the Dolphins lost, but that was pretty much expected.

And despite seeing three movies, I was bored all weekend (but I did try to be a good host to my visiting niece and nephew).

And to add insult to injury, it appears that mayhaps the new Disey flick is gonna flop, even though I actually liked it a lot!

And though I can't really blame my heightened level of BLAH on this, it didn't help that my Dad was hospitalized. Again...this time from Monday night to Wednesday night.
Helluva week.
