I watched my DVD of Faust yesterday.
I think I've had it for close to a year, so it was about time.
Faust was a very sick and twisted and disturbing comic book which I never really understood but bought yearly (it rarely came out with any sort of regular schedule) because the art by Tim Vigil was really cool. Pornographic, but very cool.
The writer of the comic, David Quinn, actually wrote most of the movie, but unfortunately it didn't stop it from being really bad.
I guess some things just can't translate from medium to medium with out suffering...
Guess that's it for May.
Bye.
Like fire
Hellfire
This fire in my skin
This burning
Desire
Is turning me to sin
It's not my fault
I'm not to blame
It is the gypsy girl
The witch who sent this flame"
- Sung by the twisted Judge Frollo in Disney's Hunchback Of Notre Dame
Sorry, couldn't help myself.
I watched that DVD last night.
It had been a while since I saw that movie, and damn, for Disney, it is REALLY dark...and kinda twisted.
Awesome movie.
Well, nothing happy about this Memorial Day Weekend, but hope yours is better than mine.
Two new reviews up in the MOVIE SECTION.
I may or may not have a three day weekend, and it's basically irrelevant anyway because I have nothing going anyway.
Actually, I will prefer to work some on Monday because other wise the short week will be kind of brutal from a workload perspective.
This place is very slow lately.
Even I feel the lingering presence of the Ghost of Job IN-Security...
"Someone told me
Love would all save us
But, how can that be
Look what love gave us"
Amen.
Anyway, I just saw my new DVD of Donnie Darko.
Wow, what a strange, cool, freaky movie!
The other night I saw my new DVD of THE OTHERS.
Damn, I LOVE that movie!!!
Well, I did stay away from Star Wars this weekend, but I didn't help out my buddy Spider-Man like I had intended.
Still, I just saw the numbers, and while SW did do well, it didn't break Spidey's record, or even HARRY POTTER'S, so I feel a little better.
Tonight is the final episode of The X - Files, and while I haven't watched it religiously, I really appreciate what it meant to the quality of TV programming, and to the acceptance of genre TV as a whole.
Farewell, you will be missed.
In other news, my car just passed the 50,000 mile mark.
A 4 year old car, so that's 12,500 a year...
God, I'm so average!
Well Gregory, as a matter of fact, I am kind of proud of that.
My site is a waste of time, but it's my little waste of time, and the fact taht people half way around the world looked at it is pretty fucking amazing.
Um, if any one knows French, maybe someone can look into the site at LESECHOS.FR and send me a direct link or something?
I tried looking around, but my French is almost non-existent (I got a "D" way back in the Eighth grade!)
So yeah, the weekend sucked, eh?
Well, not for the makers of Spider-Man. WOW, that movie is making a LOT of money!!!
I'm really glad about that!
All I saw was A REALLY BAD MOVIE.
Had a huge Mother's Day lunch yesterday.
You know, I'm so huge that the other day I took a couple of steps backwards, and I heard beeping sounds...
Ah, Sunday morning.
Oh, and Happy Mother's Day?
Man, it's Friday afternoon, and I have no definite plans for the weekend so far.
I mean, who knows, maybe some good'll come out of it, but it's looking bleaker and bleaker.
It's really immature on my part, but having nothing to do on my only days off from work really bums me out...add to that the fact that I live in a perpetual state of being bummed out anyway, and it's almost scary...
Anyway, I guess I really had no reason to come in here...
