OH WOE IS ME...
MAY 2002

Friday 5/31/02

I watched my DVD of Faust yesterday.
I think I've had it for close to a year, so it was about time.
Faust was a very sick and twisted and disturbing comic book which I never really understood but bought yearly (it rarely came out with any sort of regular schedule) because the art by Tim Vigil was really cool. Pornographic, but very cool.
The writer of the comic, David Quinn, actually wrote most of the movie, but unfortunately it didn't stop it from being really bad.
I guess some things just can't translate from medium to medium with out suffering...

Guess that's it for May.
Bye.

"I feel her, I see her
The sun caught in raven hair
Is blazing in me out of all control

Like fire
Hellfire
This fire in my skin
This burning
Desire
Is turning me to sin

It's not my fault

I'm not to blame

It is the gypsy girl
The witch who sent this flame"
- Sung by the twisted Judge Frollo in Disney's Hunchback Of Notre Dame

Sorry, couldn't help myself.
I watched that DVD last night.
It had been a while since I saw that movie, and damn, for Disney, it is REALLY dark...and kinda twisted.
Awesome movie.

Sunday 5/26/02

“Can't believe that you need my love so bad
Come sneakin' around tryin' to drive me mad
Bustin' in on my dreams
Making me see things I don't wanna see”
- Fleetwood Mac / Judas Priest / every “ex-girlfriend” I’ve ever had…

Well, nothing happy about this Memorial Day Weekend, but hope yours is better than mine.

Two new reviews up in the MOVIE SECTION.

Friday 5/24/02

"Why have you forsaken me
In your eyes, forsaken me
In your thoughts, forsaken me
In your heart
forsaken me" - S.O.A.D.

I may or may not have a three day weekend, and it's basically irrelevant anyway because I have nothing going anyway.
Actually, I will prefer to work some on Monday because other wise the short week will be kind of brutal from a workload perspective.
This place is very slow lately.
Even I feel the lingering presence of the Ghost of Job IN-Security...

Wednesday 5/22/02

I had no intention of coming in here today, but I had to do some fixing anyway. Me and my fucking typos.
Anyway, since I'm kinda hurting, and this song by Chad Kroeger and Josey Scott is on the radio every two minutes, I thought I'd post these lyrics too:

"Someone told me
Love would all save us
But, how can that be
Look what love gave us"

Amen.

Monday 5/20/02

NATALIE PORTMAN IS BEAUTIFUL.
But it really was a waste of a hard earned $3.50...

Sunday 5/19/02

God I hate Sundays...

Anyway, I just saw my new DVD of Donnie Darko.
Wow, what a strange, cool, freaky movie!

The other night I saw my new DVD of THE OTHERS.
Damn, I LOVE that movie!!!

Well, I did stay away from Star Wars this weekend, but I didn't help out my buddy Spider-Man like I had intended.
Still, I just saw the numbers, and while SW did do well, it didn't break Spidey's record, or even HARRY POTTER'S, so I feel a little better.

Tonight is the final episode of The X - Files, and while I haven't watched it religiously, I really appreciate what it meant to the quality of TV programming, and to the acceptance of genre TV as a whole.
Farewell, you will be missed.

Thursday 5/16/02

Wow, somebody actually found that link to that French newspaper.
THANK YOU MOHAMED!!!
Here's the link to THE ARTICLE. Weird.

In other news, my car just passed the 50,000 mile mark.
A 4 year old car, so that's 12,500 a year...
God, I'm so average!

Wednesday 5/15/02

I received an e-mail from France.
Yeah, that French place way over there in Europe and stuff.
Anyway, it's not a very flattering e-mail, but hey, it's from France, you know.
That's kinda cool.

"I send you this e-mail to inform you that I found your web site adress in a very serious French daily newspaper "Les echos". It is a financial daily newspaper. Every day they give the adress of "5 totally useless ininteresting web sites" (the only funny article of the paper...).
I think you must be very proud of that! "

Well Gregory, as a matter of fact, I am kind of proud of that.
My site is a waste of time, but it's my little waste of time, and the fact taht people half way around the world looked at it is pretty fucking amazing.

Um, if any one knows French, maybe someone can look into the site at LESECHOS.FR and send me a direct link or something?
I tried looking around, but my French is almost non-existent (I got a "D" way back in the Eighth grade!)

Monday 5/13/02

"I was told there's a miracle for each day that I try
I was told there's a new love that's born for each one that has died
I was told there'd be no one to call on when I feel alone and afraid
I was told if you dream of the next world
You'll find yourself swimming in a lake of fire" - Dream Theater

So yeah, the weekend sucked, eh?
Well, not for the makers of Spider-Man. WOW, that movie is making a LOT of money!!!
I'm really glad about that!

All I saw was A REALLY BAD MOVIE.

Had a huge Mother's Day lunch yesterday.
You know, I'm so huge that the other day I took a couple of steps backwards, and I heard beeping sounds...

Sunday 5/12/02

Ah, Sunday morning...
Awake since 5...
About a hundred trips to the bathroom...
A tear soaked pillow...

Ah, Sunday morning.

Oh, and Happy Mother's Day?

Friday 5/10/02

"close your eyes and just remember when
we were you and faith was not pretend
anymore" - Savatage

Man, it's Friday afternoon, and I have no definite plans for the weekend so far.
I mean, who knows, maybe some good'll come out of it, but it's looking bleaker and bleaker.

It's really immature on my part, but having nothing to do on my only days off from work really bums me out...add to that the fact that I live in a perpetual state of being bummed out anyway, and it's almost scary...

Wednesday 5/8/02

Hmmm. May continues to suck.
This weekend isn't shaping up too well either.
I really hate the bad weekends, you know?

Anyway, I guess I really had no reason to come in here...

Friday 5/3/02

Well, May is off to a terrible fucking start.
I'm glad this week's over.
But at least for FOR TWO HOURS I was highly entertained.
