FORGETTING SARAH MARSHALL

Forgetting Sarah Marshall is a very funny movie from the same group of folks that brought us SUPERBAD, KNOCKED UP and 40 YEAR OLD VIRGIN. What I didn’t realize going in is that the star of the flick, the very likable Jason Segel, is also the writer!

Segel, who was in Freaks And Geeks and is currently on How I Met Your Mother, plays a musician who happens to be dating a popular TV show actress, the title character, Sarah Marshall, played very well by Kristen Bell.
I never really watched Veronica Mars, and I’m not crazy about her character on Heroes, so I’ve never been into Kristen Bell, but she was really good here. Jason Segel though, he really shined. I wasn’t sure about him as a leading man, but he carried this film well.

Also in the movie is Mila Kunis, who was on That 70’s Show, and is the voice of Meg on Family Guy. She was very good as well, and her character was nicely written.

Totally stealing ever scene he’s in is Russell Brand, as rock star Aldous Snow.
I’m pretty sure I’ve never seen this guy before, but he was really funny, and had great delivery.
Of course other Apotow alum make their obligatory cameos, and they're all pretty funny, as well.

Forgetting Sarah Marshall totally fits the style of the other Apotow produced films mentioned here. Kind of vulgar, but with a lot of humor and a surprising amount of heart. Segel really impressed me as a writer and an actor.
Um, but next time he can cover up a bit. Sheesh.
